Our approach is very individualistic and we use a wide range of interventions depending on where the client is on his/her journey. One of our highest values in working with someone is our respect for their own process. We see our role as one that offers support as well as challenge with appropriate timing. When a client is ready, we enjoy guiding them to understand patterns that they learned in their family of origin. Helping them to identify, express, and release feelings about the wounding they experienced in order to stop unhealthy patterns in the present. Our fully licensed clinicians have met the stringent requirements of education, supervised training, hours of supervised practice, testing and continuing education. At Bareiter Counseling Center we value the professionalism afforded by the professional associations with which we are affiliated. Our licensed professional counselor associates have graduated from graduate school gaining excellent experience in their practicums and internships and have passed their boards. They are provisionally licensed obtaining their clinical and supervision hours.
Many of our providers provide service with psychology for all a nonprofit organization that exists to help open the door to emotional well-being by providing psychotherapy services for members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community who face various barriers to accessing the mental health care they need. We connect qualified adults with our diverse list of licensed local psychological service providers who have agreed to provide discounted services to help improve the mental health of our community.
