Each one of us experiences rich joys and deep challenges in our lives. Most of the time, we cannot predict when or how these experiences will affect us. Therefore, it is important for us to find hope and meaning in even the deepest of challenges. I would consider it a privilege to work with you as you cope with and navigate through the challenges you are currently facing in your life.

How I Help

In the counseling process, I walk alongside my clients as they journey through the struggles that they are experiencing. I approach the counseling process with a client-centered focus to help facilitate growth and healing.  I work to help clients better understand themselves so that they can feel more confident in undertaking life’s challenges. Finally, I desire the counseling process to be a safe place for clients to uncover tools they already have and find more helpful ways to put those into practice.

My Specialties

Perinatal Health

The perinatal period is often marked by excitement and significant changes. However, it’s not uncommon to also feel negative emotions during the transition of welcoming home a baby. For example, 1 in 5 to 7 women experience postpartum depression. As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health counselor, I would consider it a privilege to work with you whether you seek help for anxious or depressive feelings, support with birth trauma or loss, or process your motherhood experience.

Anxiety and Depression Counseling

Often, those of us can feel paralyzed in our thoughts or overwhelmed by the stress we experience. Many find themselves challenged to feel motivated or enjoy life as they used to. This can leave you feeling stuck or without the sense of hope that you used to have. In creating a safe and non-judgmental environment, I will walk with you to find ways to manage the symptoms while also seeking the underlying meaning in your struggle.

Complex Relationships

Relationships are one of the most central aspects of our lives. When our relationships with others are strained, they can be challenging to navigate and even have heavy implications on our mental health. Some of our earliest experiences with family relationships greatly impact how we interact with others today. I work with individuals to explore patterns and meaning in their relationships so they can engage with others in healthy ways.

More About Me

I am from Memphis, Tennessee, but I have spent my adult life here in North Carolina. I received my undergraduate degree at Samford University in 2015 and a Masters of Science in Counseling and Education Specialist degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2019. I have had clinical experience with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, life changes, mood disorders, and trauma. Having worked in student ministry before my counseling career, I enjoy incorporating spirituality into the counseling process if a client desires.
